adding luxe bridal details

Nine Lives Bridal is not only about tailoring a gown for flawless fit, it’s also about adding details that instantly make a gown more luxurious or functional for her specific day, should the bride wish for these details.

Take this gorgeous lace motif gown, for example. Originally this gown was designed with a very small, 1/2” horsehair trim for the hem, making the skirt more flowy. This bride had her wedding in a windy location, so adding a much thicker horsehair not only added extra weight to keep the skirt in place, it also gave this skirt additional support and volume.

The before and after, with the before on the left.

I love this addition of the thick horsehair to this gown. It gives this gown such a rich texture, and the clamshell, wavy effect adds so much character and charm.

To anchor the gown more in the wind, I added these additional points that attach the outer skirt to the liner, to keep everything in place for pictures and the ceremony. I love how invisible this horsehair trim is, and doesn’t clash with the gorgeous lace motif of this gown at all, even close up.

Even though this gown didn’t necessarily needed the horsehair for the fit, this is one addition that I believe added so much value to this gown.
